Sensory Exploration
Stimulating the Senses

Sensory exploration is a powerful way to enhance a child’s learning and creativity through hands-on experiences that engage their different senses. The goal is to create a rich environment where children can interact with a variety of textures, sounds, and sights, promoting cognitive development, motor skills, and emotional growth. In these sensory exploration sessions, children are

encouraged to engage in play that integrates multiple senses:

Tactile (Touch) - Activities such as playing with sand, water, or textured objects help children develop fine motor skills while learning about different sensations.

Auditory (Sound) - Incorporating sound into the activities, such as musical instruments, nature sounds, or interactive noise-making toys, can help improve auditory processing and attention skills.

Visual (Sight) - Brightly colored materials, light displays, or visual patterns engage a child’s sense of sight, helping with color recognition, focus, and visual tracking.

Proprioception and Vestibular Senses - Activities like climbing, balancing, or jumping stimulate a child’s awareness

of their body in space (proprioception) and their sense of balance and movement (vestibular).

Play and Learn
Parent and Me Class

The foundation of this class is play, which is a critical method for young children to learn and develop. Through games, sensory activities, and creative play, children explore and engage with the world around them. These activities are often hands-on, allowing children to practice motor skills, problem-solving, and social interaction in a natural way.
These classes emphasize the role of parents or caregivers as active participants in their child's learning process. By engaging in play together, parents not only bond with their children but also model language and cognitive skills. The involvement of parents also reinforces learning at home.  Parents are encouraged to guide their children in communicating and expressing themselves during play.
These classes also offer an opportunity for children to interact with peers, learning essential social skills like sharing, taking turns, and cooperating with others. Parents, in turn, learn from each other and can share experiences in a community-oriented environment.

Elective Classes

This elective class aims to provide targeted language enrichment for students while attending their regular school day or weekend activities.  The class focuses on enhancing communication skills through evidence-based practices, engaging and creative activities, and collaborative projects. By fostering the development of speech articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, social communication, and fluency, the program promotes the generalization of skills to academic and social settings. Additionally, the elective encourages peer understanding and inclusivity regarding communication differences.
